My goal is to discover gluten-free food in the District to make your gluten-free diet easier.
Multiple locations: http://tastykabobinc.com/locations.html
What I got: Chicken over salad with spinach and mixed vegetables. The meat was covered in delicious spices (choose mild, medium or hot) and tasty sauce. My only complaints were overly salted veggies and a little too much sauce.
Gluten-free friendliness: You won’t have trouble finding something to eat on this menu, just skip the pita and gyro options. All available sides (chickpeas, spinach, potatoes and okra) are healthy compliments to your kabobs. Choose from chicken, lamb, veggies or a few rotating specials.
Overall vibe: Nothing makes me happier than lunch from a (bright green) food truck, and Tasty Kabob did not let me down in that sense. The large portions are a great way to gear up for the second half of a busy day. Waiting in the short line in the sunshine isn’t bad, either.
Gluten-free gut reaction: Won’t go again
